Creekside Autism Center offers a unique collaborative approach to autism treatment
We synergize ABA, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and physical therapy, ensuring a well-rounded and comprehensive therapeutic experience for your child.
At Creekside, our therapists from both behavioral and developmental backgrounds work together to create an individualized plan of care for your child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) collaborate with developmental speech, occupational and physical therapists to ensure daily learning goals are appropriate and transferrable to real life. Located in Johns Creek, our center is specifically designed to help your child experience stimulating play, while improving practical skills like potty training, getting ready for school, or going to the dentist. We celebrate neurodiversity at Creekside and, while we know that parenting your child for a fulfilling life ahead isn’t easy, we’re here to help.
By integrating the proven benefits of applied behavior analysis (ABA) and developmental play, we created an all-encompassing center that caters to children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). We offer a nurturing environment that celebrates neurodiversity, values each individual, and promotes independence and functional skills by guiding children toward behavioral changes in real-life contexts.
Our Therapy Services
Direct ABA Therapy
Direct ABA therapy is provided one-on-one by a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), offering many chances to practice skills in a fun and child-focused way with RBT support. The child’s treatment plan, created by their Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), directs which skills are worked on during the therapy session.
Group ABA Therapy
Group ABA therapy offers children the chance to learn in small groups under the guidance of an experienced therapist, providing valuable skills for navigating various settings such as classrooms, airports, grocery stores, and restaurants.
Social Skills Therapy
Our social skills therapy focuses on promoting interactions among groups of peers. Children have the opportunity to practice skills that help them build and maintain friendships in small groups. We use various activities like LEGOs, board games, skits, team challenges, and more to teach important skills like taking turns, negotiating, problem-solving, and keeping others engaged in the group.
Parent Training
Parents and caregivers work closely with the Board Certified Behavior Analyst to discuss both short-term and long-term goals that are meaningful to the family. The BCBA not only shares assessment and progress data but also offers personalized, hands-on training to the family.
Behavior Consultation
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst conducts behavior consultations to evaluate how well a child’s treatment plan is working. This plan includes both short-term and long-term goals that have been developed by the person’s family and treatment team. The BCBA offers feedback to the child’s treatment team during these consultations, guiding all aspects of therapy to maximize progress.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy focuses on helping children regulate their sensory input from the environment, which is essential for effective learning. It includes activities that are designed to both calm and alert children based on their specific needs.
Speech Therapy
Speech therapy for kids encompasses two primary areas: speech therapy, which involves the production of sounds, and language therapy, which includes issues related to a child’s language expression, comprehension, reading skills, and other language-related aspects. Many children with autism can benefit from either speech therapy, language therapy, or a combination of both to support their communication and language development.
Physical Therapy
Physical therapy improves a child’s strength, motor skills, balance, and coordination. If your child struggles with sitting, frequent falls, clumsiness, fatigue during play, or keeping up with peers, they may benefit from it. It addresses gross motor delays and sensory processing issues, aiding children, particularly those with autism, in reaching developmental milestones.
